This Wildcare Inc Code of Practice - Minimum Standard for the Welfare and Care of Native Wildlife has been developed by and for Wildcare Inc members and carers. Its purpose is to provide guidance in the best possible methods to enable these animals to survive post-release. In writing this document we have taken into consideration the best rehabilitation practices in the Northern Territory and other states of Australia. This Code of Practice provides guidelines for the rescue, care and rehabilitation of orphaned, sick and/or injured animals kept pending release into the wild.

In the NT all native fauna is protected under the Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 2005:
